New Barn Cottage B&B

We only booked one night and ended up wishing we could have stayed longer. The room was spacious, with a large, very comfortable double bed, and the bathroom was roomy too. There were soft clean towels, soaps, tea, coffee, chocolate drinks and bottled water. Julie cooked a lovely full English breakfast, with plenty of toast, proper English butter and jams. There was also fresh orange juice, lots of tea and coffee, cereals and yoghurt. Julie and Mike made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The B&B is just off the motorway, but it was peaceful, set in nursery grounds with a paddock and farm animals to look at. A great find just outside Taunton. I’d happily recommend a stay if I’m down that way again. 💯

I’d never stayed in a home B&B before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but Julie and Mike made me feel completely at home. They’re such kind, lovely people. I arrived late at night and they let me check in at 10pm. The room had everything I needed, and it was affordable compared with other hotels and B&Bs. It suited me well while visiting family nearby on my own. Breakfast was really good too, especially the sausages. I’d definitely come back if I needed to, mostly because the hosts were so lovely.

The owners were friendly and accommodating, and there was plenty of parking. I booked a room with a cupboard and an ensuite toilet and shower, and it exceeded my expectations. Freshly brewed coffee and a cooked breakfast were nice touches. A comfortable place with a homey feel.

It’s very quiet here, so I got a good night’s sleep, and there’s free WiFi. The phone signal is poor at best, though, so you’re pretty much off grid. The room was big and comfortable, with a great ensuite shower. Breakfast was good and there was plenty to choose from, just ask. There’s also a pub less than a mile down the road that does good food.
