That olde world pub feel was lovely, and the 80’s music was great too. The roast pork lunch was only £13.50 and there was far more than I could finish in a regular size: three thick pieces of pork, stuffing, six kinds of veg, three big roast potatoes, thick gravy and a massive Yorkshire pudding. Thanks so much. I’d definitely recommend it and would love to come back.

The views alone make the drive worthwhile, and the locals were friendly. It’s a cracking, welcoming pub with good ale and food. I’ll definitely visit again.

We both went for the steaks and really enjoyed them. It’s a nice old style country pub, with decent beers and ciders on draft and welcoming, friendly staff. You can take in great valley views from the eating area.

There’s a biggish beer garden and a brilliant view north over rolling hills from the back. The pub has been in the Good Pub Guide since 1987, in its 5th edition, and is also listed in CAMRA’s latest 2024 Good Beer Guide. Inside, there’s a good choice of real ales, friendly staff, and pool for 60p, which is good value.
