I stayed seven nights in the Coach House flat at Glyn Isa and really enjoyed it. The owners answered my questions quickly before I booked and gave me useful directions and tips on local attractions. Their walk-through of the TV, hob and oven, bins and other things was helpful too. When I caused a TV glitch, they sorted it promptly. It feels furnished like someone’s home, with solid, attractive furniture and decor. The bathroom is new, with strong water pressure, plenty of hot water and a heated towel rack that was a treat. I used the back bedroom, which has a very large comfortable bed and a window overlooking the orchard. From the living room the big window faces the mountains, and another of the three large windows looks out at flowering trees. There’s a private garden patio, lovely in the late afternoon sun for relaxing and listening to birds. Set away from the main road, the area is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. It’s convenient for exploring northern Wales, with gardens, castles, stately homes, attractive villages and several public footpaths nearby. Conwy Castle and Bodnant Gardens were both fascinating, and less than 20 minutes away.

Liz was very helpful and promptly answered all my texts and calls. I found The Coach House on bookings.com but booked directly for a better price. We stayed three nights last weekend and loved it. It’s on the small access road beside the house, across from the Water Garden and Pancake House, which is well worth visiting. There’s no through traffic, so it’s quiet and peaceful. The apartment is spotlessly clean with a welcoming decor, two bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom, and a little sunny patio garden just for us. It felt more like a cottage than an apartment, and we were glad we stayed.

We stayed in one of the stable apartments, and the beds were comfortable, everything was spotless, and it had a full set of amenities. Darren greeted us and showed us around. The photos can’t quite capture the thoughtful way the living and dining spaces are decorated. We couldn’t have asked for more and will check availability next time we’re in the area.

On arrival at Glyn Isa lodge, we thought we’d found heaven on earth. The setting is idyllic, peaceful and beautiful. This 17th Century Country House in Rowen, Conwy had everything we needed and more, including an unbelievably comfortable bed. Liz and Darren were friendly, welcoming hosts. It’s one of the most enchanting places I’ve stayed in the UK, and I can’t recommend it enough. 12/10 stars.

We stayed three nights in the Lodge and couldn’t fault it. Everything was just right, with all we could want and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The gardens were peaceful, and Darren and Elizabeth were lovely and gave us lots of ideas for places to visit. We’ll definitely return.
