I was disappointed with the meal. I ordered chicken strips and chips, but only the chips arrived. When my brother asked about the chicken, the waiter said the order hadn’t gone through, so we had to pay again. The chicken was very soft, and its coating was bland enough that I couldn’t eat it. The waiter took it back to the chef, then came back saying the chef thought it was fine and wouldn’t give a refund.

We got there at 2:50, just ten minutes before they stopped serving at 3, and the staff were still friendly and happy to let us order. Scampi and chips for me, all day breakfast for the other of us. A welcome lunch on a cold, rainy day. It’s a cosy pub with a good range of well kept real ale. The food was good, service pleasant, and the whole meal felt really comfortable.

The room had everything we needed and was comfortable, and the food was delicious. Staff were especially friendly and attentive. It’s right in the middle of town, with parking access too. I’d book here again next time I’m staying.

Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and the burger was perfect. The room was cute and had everything I needed. It was a bit rustic, but that’s part of the charm, and just what I expected from a little inn in a small town.

We came back on Saturday and Sunday after enjoying our Friday night meal so much. The food was good, the service friendly, and it’s dog friendly too. It seems to have new owners who are making improvements. We were staying in town for a long weekend.
