A great choice for a night or two. We had a comfortable room and a modern bathroom, with WiFi and parking. Continental and cooked breakfast were included, and the hosts were friendly and hospitable. Fantastic.

Sally, Douglas and the staff were all very helpful, and Sally went out of her way when we needed assistance. We also found the people around Herstmonceux and the White Horse Inn friendly, with the inn a nice place for meals and refreshments. The country garden was lovely and full of butterflies, and there’s an interesting church at the end of the lane. Our room was excellent, though the ensuite felt a little compact for our particular needs. The house has a beautiful country style, with a rope handrail, classical furniture and oak beams. Breakfast included a full English, alternatives, fresh fruit and cereal. A great base for experiencing a traditional large country cottage while staying within easy reach of the coast.

The owner was keen to make our stay and breakfast suit us, and the place is definitely worth the money. It’s a characterful spot in a beautiful setting, down a very quiet lane off the main road, with fields behind it. We had a taxi after the funeral wake, but it was the one in the last photo and the driver was incredibly rude and miserable. I wouldn’t use them. We were a little delayed saying our goodbyes, so we came out late.

Breakfast was superb and freshly cooked, and the room was comfortable with everything we needed. On arrival, the owner greeted us warmly, showed us to the room and gave us all the information we needed. It’s a lovely old house with good views, tucked away down a long country lane. Just how a guest house or B&B should be. Top marks, thank you.
