The room was spacious, and so was the bathroom. It was clean and welcoming, with a comfortable bed, sweet snacks and a choice of hot drinks. Staff were lovely, and we enjoyed the food and cocktails. The Dog & Whistle is also right in the town centre, which is handy. We stayed for one night over the weekend. There was noise into the early hours, but we knew that could happen because it's a central pub that holds its own events outside, so it didn't bother us.

I had one of my best nights out in years at a recent 30+ event at the Dog and Whistle. The DJ was top notch, and both the staff and security were warm and friendly. I'm already looking forward to going again. I lost my watch that night after the strap broke. I've had it for a long time, and it means a lot to me as well as being worth a lot financially. I went back the next day and explained what had happened. A staff member invited me into the pub and returned it, after another member of staff had found it and kept it safe. I'm so grateful to them.

I've been before and the food was great, but this drag bingo night was a letdown. The event felt flat and lacked atmosphere. The supposed free glass of Prosecco was only half a glass, and when I asked a staff member to take a photo of our group, she said she was too busy making cocktails. Staff were a little rude too.

It was my first time at the Dog and Whistle, and I had a lovely night. Bea, Giorgia and Dino were welcoming, and Dino helped me when I lost my phone. Scott helped my friends and me get a cab back. The Christmas decorations would make it a perfect venue for a staff Christmas party. We're looking forward to coming back.
