Debbie welcomed us with a ready smile and was a perfect, accommodating host. I have a feather allergy and my partner is allergic to dairy, so we must have been nightmare clients, but she made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. Even though I said I'd bring my own, Debbie went out and bought synthetic bedding for me because the usual bedding was clearly down or feather. We came for a function near High Wycombe, but this would make a lovely romantic getaway too. There seemed to be plenty of bridal paths nearby. After a long day at work, it would be a great place to unwind and recharge before the next working day. The city centre is only a 40 min train ride away, so you could combine a shopping trip or a show with a quiet night's sleep. We stayed in the Indian bedroom, with lovely rural views out the back. The bed was comfortable, the room spotless, and it had a cosy, home from home feel, unlike the bare but adequate feel of most hotels or b&bs. The deep roll top bath was relaxing, fluffy white bathrobes were provided, and the decor had a warm, calm, reassuring effect. There were thoughtful details throughout, including a stone carving of a woman supporting the basin and interesting artwork around the property. Our room also had a bottle of water, green tea, a cafetière and, of course, chocolates. Breakfast was delicious, served in the open plan living area overlooking a serene, charming, quintessential English garden. I usually have a continental breakfast, but the cooked options tempted me. If you're staying in this area for business or pleasure, this is the place. I'm already looking for an excuse to come back soon.

The night before my wedding was such a beautiful, relaxing stay. Debbie, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you for a wonderful time and lovely memories with my bridesmaids!

A really nice place.

There's room for improvement, even though the accommodation is mostly clean and alright in general. It seems more attention goes to looks: decorative items with price tags are everywhere, and there are signs warning against all sorts of activities. The rooms are already small and cluttered, yet full of decorations, while missing a desk, a small refrigerator and a sofa. The grounds are badly neglected. The property sits right beside a busy main road and only a few metres from the motorway, which you can hear constantly.
