The room had stains on the bathroom floor, no spare toilet rolls, out-of-date biscuits, and a fridge that didn't work. There were even diamanté thongs hanging from the banister. It all made the place feel badly managed. We were also woken by other guests heading to their rooms late in the evening, since the noise carried so easily. The staff's manners weren't much better. When we said we wouldn't have breakfast, the lady celebrated not having to get up early, which came across as incredibly rude. I had to chase twice about the booking deposit after being told I'd hear by phone or email, but no one ever got back to me. The first impression was poor too. Children's toys were scattered in the front garden and inside the pub. Tables weren't laid for meals, several visible rooms were being used for storage, and an empty guest room was left open with dirty laundry holding the door. It felt very unprofessional. The place needed a proper tidy-up as soon as we arrived. We were really disappointed, especially after reading the other reviews. We wouldn't come back or recommend it based on this stay.

The food was delicious, and the menu was simple, which we liked. Staff were incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was lovely, and everything was clean. We were given games to play while we waited, though the food didn't take long. Prices were very reasonable too. A fellow camper at the local campsite recommended The Fox, and they were right. We'll be back!

My car broke down, so I ended up staying here unexpectedly, and they couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. The room was tidy and clean, with a comfy bed. I also enjoyed the nice beers and a lovely sausage and mash dinner. Absolutely brilliant, and I'd highly recommend it.

We stopped in for a quick pint and Dan, a lovely gentleman, greeted us. Everyone there was a nice bunch and made us feel welcome straight away. We really enjoyed the cosy, comfortable atmosphere. Definitely worth stopping by.

The Christmas menu had lots of choice, and everything was beautifully cooked and presented, with generous portions at a reasonable price. The crackers on the table were a nice touch. We were warmly welcomed, especially my sisters two dogs, and everyone was helpful and friendly. My family live in different places, so we've met at The Fox for pre-Christmas lunch for several years. It's a lovely pub and restaurant in a great spot, conveniently close to the motorway. I know it's changed hands twice, and the new team have made big improvements. Great to see the place getting a new lease of life. Wishing you every success, and hope to see you next Christmas!
