We booked two rooms for two nights, and both were more than comfortable. The hotel is nice, and the owners and staff were friendly and helpful. The only small snag, which didn't really affect us, was that the hot water tap in the family room didn't work. The shower was great.

The staff were fine and so was the room, but noise affected my sleep. Road sounds seemed to carry into our room, and in the early hours we were woken by very animated guests elsewhere in the hotel. I don't think the owners could do much about either issue, so I don't blame them.

Elaine welcomed my partner and me in a friendly way when we arrived. The place was small and basic, but it was what it said it was. The problem came after we left an item behind. For five days we've tried to arrange to collect my engagement ring, speaking with both Elaine and the man who works there, but we've been fobbed off and are no closer to getting it back. Neither has been helpful, and the man was disgustingly rude, shutting a door in my face and saying he was too busy to deal with it. That's not how you treat someone who has just paid £70 for a room.

The rooms and bed are in need of an update. At breakfast, we were told we hadn't asked for it the night before, even though nobody asked us when we arrived. The cleaner was rude and kept moaning while setting the table, which made me feel so uncomfortable I wanted to leave.
