Travelodge Highbridge Burnham-on-Sea

The room was comfortable and clean, though I did find some hairs in the bed. We were beside the cleaner cupboard area, so it got very loud at certain times. There wasn't any hand or body soap in the bathroom. I had my own, and I'm sure they'd have brought some if I'd asked. A very kind and helpful woman greeted us on Friday afternoon. I didn't catch her name.

For the last four months I've stayed here every week while working away as a contractor. It's comfortable and clean, with good amenities nearby, and it does the job when you need a decent night's sleep. There's a massive Aldi outside and a free EV charger, though people sometimes park there without charging, and the hotel doesn't enforce it. The main downside is the service. There are only about three staff, and they're all rushed off their feet. The restaurant food is microwavable food that's been warmed up. Rooms seem to come in two sizes, either a standard double or a family room with four beds. Prices can get quite high if you book the week before.

Sheri at reception and the bar was great, and the food was good too. Check-in was easy and efficient, and the room was clean, quiet and good. No complaints. I'd definitely stay again.

The staff were lovely in the evening. The poor guy was rushed off his feet but couldn't have done more for us. Still, the family room itself was a letdown: a broken door stop had left a big screw lying on the floor, the soap dispenser didn't work, and the bathroom shelf was coming away. After paying £75, I expected a safer, better-kept room. Hopefully ours was just a dud.
