The Plough Inn

A young man behind the bar gave us superb service, and we got an exceptional welcome, including our dog. I met a friend for a Friday after-work drink, and the drinks were lovely quality at a fair price. It's a homely place where I'd feel happy visiting on my own as a woman. What a hidden gem. I'll definitely be back.

If you're staying here Thursday to Saturday and don't mind loud music until 2am, this might suit you. I had to be up early for work, so getting just three hours of sleep was awful. There's no car park either. I booked four nights, but the accommodation didn't meet my expectations and I left after three. The pub has recently changed hands and the new decor is generally good, but the shared bathroom needed attention and still did when I left.

A nice pub for a drink after work, and I had a lovely one here. I know the owner, Dan, and his family well. They're very friendly, and Sam is funny too. I'm less keen on it being beside a fast road, but once you're there, it's fine.

After a long journey, we expected a good night's rest, especially given the 4 1/2 star rating. Instead, our bedroom was dirty, the bins were full of rubbish, the bedding wasn't fresh and the room smelled. They moved us to another room after we complained, but I'm still very disappointed and won't book here again.
