Pep and John made the six months I spent at this lodge especially welcoming. They were always helpful, and the place felt calm and comfortable throughout. It’s right in the town centre, yet very peaceful. Everything was kept in excellent condition, and the property was spotless. I’d happily recommend it to travellers or anyone looking for a longer stay. Pep and John's hospitality really stood out.

I was sorry to leave after six months, but I had to relocate. I chose an en suite room even though it seemed expensive at first, and I’m glad I did rather than rent a flat on my own as I’d originally planned. The location was great, and I always felt safe. The place was clean and well looked after, with a friendly community and no trouble. Pepe and John, the landlords, were helpful whenever I needed something. I still recommend it when people ask me about rooms.

That was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve slept in, even compared with a five star hotel in Sitges, Spain. The room was spotless, and they’d left plenty of tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits. I stayed for one night midweek. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and I’d gladly stay there again.

The staff were friendly, and there was good parking. The price was economical, so it felt like reasonable value. The room was fine but quite small, with one side of our 4ft bed against the wall. Check the bed size when booking. Breakfast came on an enhanced hospitality tray in the room, with extras like pain au chocolat and bottled water.

I took a room here after staying as a guest while on a short term contract in Hoddesdon. I left as soon as certain things came to light, though there were other issues I’d rather not go into. The room had been advertised as including all bills. Three years later, I received a £700 council tax bill. The property’s tax band had changed, and the landlord didn’t want to cover it, so he passed the cost to tenants despite that promise. I’d avoid this place.
