I spent three nights here and found it handy for Banbury's cafés and restaurants, with Oxford easy to reach by train. It's a pub with rooms and a really distinctive feel. Steve the manager was very helpful and welcoming. Shame breakfast isn't available.

The low doorways are part of the charm, though anyone over 5ft 10 has to duck. It's a proper local with well-kept ales and a nice craft beer range. The landlord and staff are great, and there are pop-up food stalls on weekends. Mondays bring a good quiz with a twist.

The Three Pigeons pub has a surprisingly large, quirky layout. There’s a car park and a beer garden, too. Inside, the low beams, fireplaces and stone flag floors are gorgeous. Some of the old windows sit at ground level, giving you unusual views, and the place is slightly below pavement level. 😍✨️🎉🎀

The town centre is about a 10-minute walk away, and the price was very reasonable. We stayed overnight at the Three Pigeons and were very happy with it. The room was nicely decorated, with tea-making facilities and a TV, and the comfortable bed gave us a peaceful night's sleep. I'd book again.

The seating area has an old-world feel, with low ceilings and old wooden beams, and the beer was fantastic. A lovely pub that also works as a hotel. If you're staying in Banbury, you could hardly do much better.
