Curbar Hillside B&B

Mark’s advice sent me on the most stunning walk, and I’m so glad I followed it. He was a great, informative host. My room at Mark’s Hillside BnB was spotless, with a comfy bed, TV and kettle, and a nice hot shower. The big breakfast kept me going all day. I’ve just got back from two nights and will definitely return next time I’m in the Peak District. Cheers, Mark!

This was my third stay at Mark’s, and the breakfasts he makes are among the best my wife and I have had. He makes you feel very welcome. The two rooms are just right, set apart from the main house so you don’t feel you’re intruding. Curbar Hillside is in a lovely little village with local amenities, away from the town bustle but a short drive from the sights. For somewhere in the Peak District, it’s a perfect setting. Very clean, friendly, beautiful location, amazing breakfast and great value. I can’t recommend it enough.

Mark knew the area well and was a superb cook. He made whatever you wanted, and I especially recommend the savoury pancakes. Nothing was too much trouble. My husband and I arrived to a warm welcome at this quiet little B&B. The room was high standard, with a comfortable bed and bedding. There was a good range of tea, coffee and extras, replenished each morning. A super little haven, highly recommended.

We stayed four nights and didn’t want to leave. Mark made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The room was just right, with high quality furnishings and bedding, and the dining room where breakfast is served is gorgeous. Breakfast was the best part, for the delicious food and Mark’s company. His recommendations on local things to see and do were spot on, and we loved his entertaining stories. We can’t wait to return. This place is five stars in every respect.
