Field View

We had a fantastic four days at Field View. The owners have made this 300-year-old cottage cosy and warm, with great facilities and a great location. Bradwell is just as you’d expect from a typical Dale village, with stone houses, narrow roads and not much in the way of shops. The Co-op is a five-minute walk away, and the local chippy is two minutes beyond that. I’d avoid the chippy, though, as the chips are anaemic in colour and not very good. Castleton is a 10-minute drive and Eyam about 20 minutes. One tip: don’t bring a large car, as you’ll struggle to park safely. Locals have their own spaces on the road, some marked with cones, but you don’t come away to a cottage like this to worry over trivialities like parking.
