I still think fondly of my 2009 stay and would love to go back. Fiona & Les were such welcoming, friendly hosts, and everything was excellent. I loved the wee town and even brought home a piece of the local rock to NZ. It still sits in my headboard, a little reminder of a truly magical place. Breakfast was a first for us too, our first proper English breakfast, including trying black pudding for the first time.

Castleton is a great base for walking, and the pubs are good, especially the George just down the road. The cottage itself has a nice lounge and dining room, a good-sized bedroom and bathroom, and good cooking facilities. Inside, it was clean and comfortable. It's right in the middle of town and has good parking. Cheers, Alan.
