I had a very comfortable bed and it was dog friendly, so I'll absolutely stay again. The location was wonderful and it was good value for money. I spent the evening in the bar and the night in one of the rooms, and both were excellent. Friendly welcome and a good Guinness too.

The Sunday lunch was excellent, and the food was good in general. Service was great and friendly. I stayed three nights, with breakfast costing an extra £15 each. The bedroom was good and the bed comfortable, though I did hear some noise from the room above. The shower and toilet were ensuite.

We enjoyed going here a couple of times over our weekend in Bradwell. The landlady and her father were a great team, and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. The Sunday roast was relaxed and really enjoyable.

We'd planned to try all the local pubs during our week nearby, but after walking into The Old Bowling Green once, we kept coming back. The welcome was warm despite the cold weather, the range of lagers and ales was great, and the atmosphere was convivial. The locals were happy to chat too. I don't normally eat pub food, but we had a couple of meals here. They were delicious, hearty and affordable. We spent around £200-£300 over the week, and it was worth every penny, though we may need new livers after all that. Thanks to everyone at The Old Bowling Green for a lovely week.

A good base for exploring the area, and I'd recommend it. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the pub had a lovely feel and a good beer selection. My room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely view. Dinner was decent pub grub, and breakfast was good too.
