I’d definitely stay here again despite a few drawbacks. Parking is limited, and you need some skill to park off the road. The cottage itself is nice, and the espresso machine was good. The kitchen doesn’t have much storage, the fridge is small and didn’t get very cold, and it could use a decent non-stick frying pan. There was a big False Widow Spider in the cupboard, though thankfully it stayed there. The bathroom is tiny, the kitchen ceiling is very low so anyone over six feet will need to bend or sit, and the main bedroom is large. The duvet felt very heavy, even for autumn.

Rokeby Cottage is cosy, lovely and had all the facilities I wanted. It’s close enough to the village that I didn’t need to drive. I spent a lovely week there at the end of November 2014, with some great local walks and a bit of cycling.
