The Claremont

Just steps from the beach, the location is close to central attractions but stays peaceful rather than noisy. The Claremont feels personal and cosy, a welcome change from the usual hotel chains. Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast service was great. The walls feature art from local artists, with many lovely pieces available at reasonable prices. Alicia and Anna at the front desk were always very helpful. Highly recommend.

We came for Afternoon Tea to celebrate my partner's birthday, and the whole visit felt special. The tea was fresh and absolutely delicious. They had set out a cake with a candle and decorated for the occasion, and the lovely woman serving us moved us and everything into the garden so we'd be comfortable. She checked in to see if we needed anything and took great care of us. We didn't stay overnight, so can't speak from experience about the rooms, though the pictures and description look great. The Claremont also displays interesting art for sale in the foyer and celebrates local artists. So traditional, so English and so Brighton. A gem worth recommending.

The venue is beautiful, with large rooms and a perfect location near the sea in a very quiet area. Afternoon tea is well worth recommending. It's served in the back garden, a relaxing, almost magical spot. Thanks, Alicia, for being so kind to us!

I took my mum here for her birthday, and our table was ready in the beautiful garden when we arrived. The staff were outstanding, efficient, cheerful and friendly. They checked on us just enough that we never needed to ask for anything. The afternoon tea was incredible value, and with the artist open house in full swing, we had a look around too. We'll be back soon 😊
