Brynhir Farm

AVOID. I rang again and again to sort out a booking I’d already made, but nobody answered, and my email got no response either. Since I posted this, the owner has sent me abusive messages. It felt quite intimidating. Think carefully before booking.

We had plenty of room for our university reunion and could just relax without worrying about anything. The kitchen was well equipped, there was safe parking, and lovely walks started right outside. It’s a lovely tucked-away place and good value. The decor is quite dated and tired in places, but everything was clean and tidy.

The setting made for lovely countryside walks, and the views from the hundred house valley are not to be missed. We also appreciated the WiFi and restaurant recommendations, along with the choice of places to sit inside or out. Breakfast had a great range and included a veggie option. The bathroom was extremely clean, with both a bath and shower, though you need to let the water run longer. This place rescued our weekend after we’d hurriedly booked it following a bad experience elsewhere with twin beds that turned out to be bunk beds. We wish we’d found it sooner. It’s an underrated hidden gem, a characterful building in a romantic setting, with rooms that feel thoughtfully personal rather than bland. Our room had a lovely carpet, a comfortable super king-sized bed overlooking the pond, and its own sitting room. The adults running the guest house were informative, and the children were very polite and well-mannered. They’re a credit to you, and what an amazing lifestyle to live. These lovely people have clearly worked hard to make their hotel personal and cater for everyone. Please treat them with the respect they deserve. We loved every second and can’t thank you enough for transforming our weekend. I love fishing, so a fishing lake would have put me in heaven.

The hosts were lovely, and my room was tidy and comfortable with a clean en-suite. I was only there for one night on a business trip, but the location is stunning. I highly recommend it and plan to stay again.
