Classic Lodges - Bagden Hall Hotel

Ted loved wandering around the grounds towards the woods, and the staff made such a fuss of him throughout our stay. At breakfast they brought him cut-up sausages in his own bowl, which meant a lot to us. The food was beautifully presented, and breakfast was well organised. We stayed one night on 14th February. Shelbie at reception welcomed all of us warmly and gave Ted one of his favourite treats. We were first shown to the annexe, but its toilet cistern wasn’t working properly. We called reception after about 20 minutes, and a kind gentleman came quickly. He stopped it running for the time being and arranged another room. Within 10 minutes we were in the main hall, in a lovely upgraded room, which we really appreciated. Every staff member was wonderful, and we had a really positive, memorable visit. We’re looking forward to coming back soon.

The lodges at the back were easy to reach and had plenty of parking. Our room had all we needed, with fresh towels, clean bedding, and a comfortable warmth through the evening and night. For the winter special, the price was great value, especially with the cream tea on arrival and breakfast included. The hotel and grounds look lovely, and the staff were friendly from the start. There was a wedding happening, which gave the place a nice atmosphere. Before we arrived, they also answered all my questions promptly. We’d happily stay again.

We had a brilliant time at the murder mystery at Bagden Hall on Saturday. The Tall Tales mystery group were fantastic, the food was great both during the event and at breakfast, and our room was warm and comfortable. The hotel was clean, and the staff were so helpful. No complaints at all, we can’t wait to come back. A huge thank you to everyone!

The staff were welcoming and polite, and Bagden Hall is about as good as you’d expect a three-star hotel to be. On my second week, I was unexpectedly upgraded to a much roomier, more comfortable room in the main house, which was a lovely surprise. The main building is attractive, and the lakeside lodges are comfortable, with a layout that reminded me of a Travelodge. In winter, though, walking two minutes to the main house for meals in the rain is the one drawback. The surroundings are lovely, and I’d stay again and recommend it.
