Fortune Hotel Huddersfield M62 JCT24, Sure Collection by Best Western

The pub on site had a great menu, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our room and bed were super comfortable, parking was included, and the location was great. The hotel backs right onto a highway, which made me doubtful when we arrived, but the rooms are definitely soundproof. We didn’t hear a thing. The staff went above and beyond to help us, and our one-night stay was amazing.

Everything was just right from arrival to departure, and we’d definitely recommend this hotel for a quiet stay. The room was immaculately clean and well laid out, with thoughtful extras for making hot drinks. The heater kept it at a comfortable, steady temperature throughout. Staff were pleasant, polite, kind and extremely helpful. There’s a local pub with an open fire next door.

For the price, it did what I needed. I slept well even though the motorway was nearby, as the noise wasn't much of an issue. The room was good, the bathroom very clean, and the bed comfortable. It felt a bit tired, which is fair for a budget hotel. The TV was old but watchable, though a plug or charging socket by the bed would help. I arrived at 10.45pm and got a lovely welcome at reception. The £4 grab-and-go breakfast was probably worth it, and there was plenty to eat. Tea and coffee were in the room too.

The location worked really well for my business trip, just off the M62 and close to my meeting in Elland. I was welcomed throughout my stay, and the young woman at reception was professional and answered all my questions. The room was clean, tidy and nicely presented. My one letdown was the lack of a restaurant, so there was no evening meal at the hotel. The Nags Head pub is right next door and serves great food, but it's separate from the hotel, so guests don't get a food discount.
