The gardens made the week especially memorable, with plenty of lovely spots for photos. Tyas Cottage is tucked away in a secluded setting, yet handy for exploring the National Parks and nearby towns, villages and cities. Vicky and John were quick to respond before we arrived and throughout our stay. We had a wonderful week and would definitely recommend it.

The cottage instructions were the best we’ve come across for a self-catering stay. We were six in the family and spent two nights at Tyas Cottage, where everything was clean and ready for us, and the facilities suited us well. We also loved being able to wander freely through the gardens and woods. Our hosts were kind and helpful, and made us feel like part of the family. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Set among woodland and gorgeous gardens, Tyas Cottage felt like a really special place to stay. Inside, it was full of character, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, with everything we needed. The owners made us feel so welcome and were happy to help with anything. We’d love to come back.

The thoughtful, sympathetic renovation shows in the quality and finish, and the cottage sits among beautiful gardens. We had a fantastic stay at Tyas cottage. It’s gorgeous, peaceful and comfortable. Now that we’ve found this haven, we’re already checking summer dates so we can return. Thank you, Vicky and John.

Our garden became a little sanctuary during the three months we stayed, with sunny days outside, family BBQs or afternoon tea when we could host relatives, and a log fire for colder weather. We found Tyas cottage after my wife, our two-year-old son and I returned to the UK from Africa during the Covid-19 pandemic and needed somewhere for three months. Vicky was able to help when we had nowhere else to stay. It’s a lovely place to relax, with walks and chances to enjoy the surrounding nature and wildlife in the Yorkshire countryside. Vicky and John were always on hand for questions, and we feel we made good friends. It was emotional when we finally had to leave. Seeing the bond our little boy formed with them over those months was lovely. We’ll definitely visit again. Thank you, Vicky and John! :-)
