We went as a group of 10 with kids and dogs, and they handled us brilliantly. We pre-ordered because there were so many of us, but the food still came out fast and was delicious. There’s plenty of room to sit without worrying about where the dog can lie down. They also have high chairs, good baby-changing facilities and water bowls for dogs. Food and drinks were reasonably priced too. I’d recommend it.

The room was warm and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was no food being served at the pub, but there were plenty of places to eat in town. At £80 a night, I thought it was a bit pricey for a pub, especially with no breakfast or dinner included.

I enjoyed both lunch or breakfast here and a pleasant evening when I visited in February. The onion rings did taste like fish, which I can understand people complaining about, especially as I’m vegetarian. They even spoiled the taste of my Guinness, though, as they say, life goes on… 😂

The food was the reason for my very low score. Everything was unbelievably salty, and I actually like salt and have a high tolerance for it. The beef tasted off. I wrapped it up for the cat, then decided I didn’t even want the cat eating it. The mash was lumpy and the Yorkshires were burnt. I hope it was just an off day. The woman behind the bar was awful, though the service otherwise was lovely.

The portions were decent and the prices very reasonable. Our caramelised onion and mozzarella baguette was delicious and generous, and there were light bites too. Jade served us and made sure we were accommodated, since the onion rings and halloumi would have been non-vegetarian. Thanks, Jade! The beer choice was pretty good when we visited yesterday: Punk IPA, Tetley Dark Mild on draft, and Wainwright and Bradfield Blonde on cask.
