The Sawmill

We were soaked by the pouring rain after walking from the station, and I really needed a hot bath and heating. There was no hot water for a bath and no central heating for the whole stay. I was relieved to find two small heaters, though they didn't put out much heat. Some lights didn't work either. The cooker hood light was out, and when I tried to change it, grease and oil came running out. The kitchen area wasn't clean, especially the cutlery, dishes, and washing-up bowl. I contacted the owners, but nothing was sorted. When I messaged again later, they said they couldn't come to the apartment. We'd booked before, but that stay was cancelled because previous guests had vandalised the apartment. We booked again expecting a lovely stay after hearing about all the repairs, but it was sadly disappointing. I feel a lot of these issues come down to poor cleaning.

It's centrally located, but inside was dirty and generally a bit tired. For the price, it doesn't compare well with similar hotels.

A good location for Hull students.
