Ramada by Wyndham Cambridge

The breakfast we paid for was poor value too: watery, tasteless scrambled eggs, overcooked sausages and rubbery bacon. The rooms were filthy. The first smelled like a wet dog that had soiled itself, and the second was covered in dirt, with inches of dust on the floors. A man from reception went over the middle of the floor with a Hoover, but it wasn't logged. There were bugs, everything felt grimy, and the shower had mould. Truly disgusting. We would have left immediately and asked for our money back if the booking hadn't been non-refundable. This was our first time using this hotel chain, and it'll be the last. It completely ruined this trip down south, where I go regularly. I complained at the hotel, but nothing was logged. I went back to Booking.com, and they investigated and the hotel's answer completely dismissed the complaint.

Great value for money. We arrived at 2am and the 24-hour reception and night staff gave excellent service. They arranged a late checkout without any hassle, and the bed was very welcoming and comfortable. A couple of small things needed attention, the shower head and base, and there was only one towel in the room.

There was such a horrible smell in the bathroom that I couldn't even shower, and a fly was trapped behind the shower door. The room was absolutely filthy. I avoided touching anything apart from the bed, which was barely decent. It was obvious they don't clean here. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.

It's surprisingly quiet at night, even though this is a major stop for huge trucks. The dinner menu was tasty and had a good variety, and the staff were polite and helpful. The place has improved, though the rooms still feel a bit tired.
