The lodge is peaceful, with a view through the trees down to Combe Martin. The steep zigzag slope to reception and slanted parking beside the lodges made me nervous at first, but once I got used to them, they weren't a problem.

It was a truly restful holiday. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and we spent time on the balcony with a glass of wine, looking over a fantastic valley view. It was so quiet that all we could hear were the birds.

The kids loved having a playground and field to run around in, and the whole site felt safe and peaceful. The cabins are nicely decorated, with kitchens stocked with everything we needed. The accommodation is spaced out across a well-kept site, with amazing views towards the sea. The owners were helpful and shared great local tips. Such a beautiful place to stay, we'll definitely return.

Our chalet was clean and modern, and the park manager was friendly and helpful. The price was very affordable, too. It's beautifully set above Combe Martin with sea views, and handy for exploring the North Devon coastline. We're hoping to return.

Because Manleigh Park is set in an old quarry, it's wonderfully quiet, with birdsong all around. We've stayed in the luxury lodges twice and love how huge they are, with everything you'd want and interiors like a top-of-the-range home. Ilfracombe harbour, a lovely small town with plenty of shops, is close by, and there are lots of places to take small children. We'll book another long weekend in the new year!
