Another wonderful meal at The Durham Ox. The monkfish starter was superb and the chicken supreme was out of this world. The food and accompanying wine were fabulous, and from the welcome onwards I couldn't fault anything. The staff always make sure you're happy, looked after and satisfied with your experience. We love The Durham Ox and its whole staff family.

The chocolate ombré dessert was fantastic, and the main course was great too. I liked the attention to detail with the starter, especially that the king prawns had already been shelled to make them easier to eat. Certainly recommend.

We spent four nights at the Durham Ox Pool Villa, from September 21 to 25 September 2025, and had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was beautiful and comfortable, with everything we needed, so there was no reason to leave. The food was out of this world. Staff were knowledgeable and went above and beyond, especially Josh, who was always polite and helpful. We were lucky to enjoy the outdoor pool and hot tub, which Steve cleaned every day. He was a pleasure to talk to. Thank you, Durham Ox, for a wonderful five star stay. We'll be back in the near future.

We'd heard so many good things about the Durham Ox, so this was our first visit, and it didn't disappoint. We chose the turkey from the festive menu, priced at £19.95. It was delicious, hot and fresh, with plenty on the plate. I'd definitely recommend the place.
