The Thai lunch was spot on, and the Thai massage was as good as ever, a proper massage. But the hydrotherapy pool was several degrees cooler than on previous visits, and the beds in the lanconium had cooled too. I really missed that warm, luxurious feeling. We’ve been coming for years because this little spa is so relaxing and romantic, but this year it feels different. It comes across like a cost cutting exercise.

The Thai lunch was delicious, especially the starter soup, and our waitress was lovely. I also enjoyed the complimentary tea, though they had several varieties on past visits and this time there was only the welcome tea. I’ve been to senspa a few times and always have a good time. The spa feels luxurious, with lovely design touches like the starry ceiling lights over the pool and the cosy lighting in the hydrotherapy area. The facilities are good and offer a range of sensory experiences. I especially like the herbal sauna and the showers that imitate tropical storms. A couple of things weren’t working this time, the pool area jacuzzi and the shoulder jets in the hydrotherapy area, though that hasn’t been a problem before. My full body massage was very relaxing and felt beneficial too. The quiet rooms are a nice place to take a break from the water and heat.

The changing rooms were well maintained, and the facilities offered plenty of variety. Our upgrade gave us access to an additional steam room, sauna, hydrotherapy pool and lounge areas. My partner and I had treatments and used the facilities, with all the staff being polite and accommodating. The treatments were impeccable. The therapists checked in throughout to make sure we were comfortable, and we left feeling so relaxed. We’ll definitely return. I’d recommend SenSpa to anyone looking to unwind.

We’ve come back to this spa many times because the quality used to be consistently high, but after this visit we’ll start looking at other options. The hydrotherapy pool was noticeably colder on Monday, despite the higher price, which was disappointing. When we asked reception, they said it was cooler because it was cold outside. That surprised us, since we’ve visited regularly in winter without this happening before. We also saw white fungal growth in the vent next to the jacuzzi, which concerned us about cleanliness and maintenance there. The savoury pastry didn’t taste freshly made either and seemed defrosted.
