The Parkwood Hotel

The owners were wonderful hosts and looked after us so well. They even let us check in a little early because I was attending a funeral. Our room was beautiful, dinner was spot on with good-sized portions, and the bar lady took great care of us. Breakfast was everything we could have wanted and more. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. What a gem, I can't recommend it enough.

Great value for money. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, and we had a lovely time. We just didn't have any milk for our morning tea. Apart from that, perfect!

The location worked perfectly for what we needed, and onsite parking was handy. We stayed one night in a very clean room in a lovely old traditional building. The TV was small, but the bed was comfortable and the room stayed well heated all night. We also had dinner in the restaurant. The food was good quality and great, the service was very friendly, prices decent, and there was a good menu and drinks selection. Breakfast had plenty of choice and good-quality food, served nicely in a relaxed atmosphere.

We booked Sunday lunch because the place is dog friendly and we'd be out walking our dog. The woman who runs it seemed friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere also felt better than on our previous visit under different management. We had the Pork Loin and the Trio of Meats, and both were very nice. We'll come back and try the Parmo.
