Westwood Lodge Ilkley Moor

The children had lovely extras to enjoy outside, including the chickens, pig, trampoline and little playhouses. Inside, the cellar gym had the essentials and room for one or two people, plus a hot tub, sauna and sunbed, all with clear instructions. We brought 9 adults and 4 children under 4 to the Westwood Lodge main house, and it worked really well for getting the family together. The bedrooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable, with en suites that made getting ready easier. All the bedrooms are upstairs, but the house is large enough that the early-rising kids could play downstairs without waking those of us hoping for a lie-in. The kitchen was a good size for a family meal and had everything we needed. Two dishwashers were *really* useful with all the washing up, and the washer and dryer came in handy for the kids' clothes. The large rooms and plenty of bathrooms suited the group well. For an older house of this size, we were pleased it felt child friendly. We didn't have to watch them like hawks for fear of them breaking something or hurting themselves, though we did make the arger a no-go area. It had just turned cold during our visit, so we needed to adjust the radiator temperature, but the rooms heated up quickly once they kicked in.
