Our wedding day on 1.11.25 was everything we could have imagined, and more. Libby and Charlotte made the planning much less stressful, replying to emails promptly and taking us through things step by step. On the day, the Ivy hill team made everything feel perfect, from the delicious canapés to a meal our guests compared to Michelin quality. Several said it was the best wedding meal they’d ever had. Jeramy, Bogdan and Clive deserve a special thank you for making the day stress free. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We’re so grateful to everyone for making it such a special day.

The staff were so friendly, especially Lorna, and the service was attentive. We had a Sunday roast at Ivy Hotel’s restaurant: the pork loin came in a generous portion and was full of flavour. We also tried some afternoon tea desserts, including scones and cakes. That sticky toffee pudding was heavenly. Such a perfect Sunday afternoon.

The location just off the A12 works well for Margaretting, Ingatestone and Chelmsford, though you’ll want a car. Reception has a list of taxi firms if needed. Our bedroom was spacious and really comfortable, and having a sofa to sit on was a bonus. Breakfast had plenty of choice.

The friendly staff were extremely helpful, and the restaurant and breakfast room had a great atmosphere. The bar was well stocked, and the Halloween decorations outside looked great. Our spacious, comfortable room was better than we expected. We really enjoyed our two nights at Ivy Hotel and would highly recommend it.

I stayed at The Ivy Hill hotel on Saturday 27th September and had a lovely experience from beginning to end. Breakfast was very good, with lots of variety, and the function room was spacious and had a bar. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with a smile.
