The Bosk @ Breamish Valley Cottages

We had a great time and can’t wait to come back. The app made it easy to order drinks, smoothies, snacks and lunch, and have them brought wherever we were in the spa. Staff and owners gave us a warm, friendly welcome, and everyone in the spa and restaurant was lovely and attentive. Facilities were impeccable throughout, and the food was beautifully presented, with exceptional produce at breakfast, lunch and dinner. We didn’t stay overnight, so can’t rate the rooms, but guests at the cottages told us they were beautiful. Great value for money. Thank you all! Dee & Brendan

The young woman serving us was professional and friendly, and my parents said their Sunday roasts were delicious. I went with them for Sunday lunch and chose the Thai green chicken curry from what I thought was a great menu. It was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. I can’t comment on the rooms since this was just a restaurant visit. We’ll be back!

The Bosk didn’t feel welcoming at all. I understand and respect that it’s their choice not to be dog friendly. We were staying very close by and had visited several times, arranging takeaway food because we had our dog with us. This time they said they don’t do takeaway, though they’d kindly served it to us on earlier visits. When we reminded them of that, they came up with “our food won’t travel,” which is the best version of “we can’t be arsed” I’ve heard in hundreds of food places over the years. It’s the first time I’ve heard a restaurant worry about how far food would travel after being sold. Really, they just couldn’t be bothered to put it in a box instead of on a plate. If you do visit, I’d sit close to the kitchen, since the food will have deteriorated a lot by the time it reaches you further away.

Chelsea’s kind, professional and friendly manner really made our day. The food was delicious, the staff attentive, and the atmosphere warm and friendly. We enjoyed dinner and morning coffee, and everyone working there was very kind to our two small children.
