Brambles Guest House

The food was very good and well worth ordering, and the rustic interior gave the cafe a country feel. There were plenty of dogs with their owners inside too. We stopped in during a bus trip to Inveraray. It was fairly busy when we arrived at 1.45pm, but a few tables were free and we could choose where to sit. Our order was taken fairly quickly, though the food took quite a while to arrive, and we had to ask for the bill.

The steak and cheese open sandwich with fries was more than enough for us to share, and we both enjoyed the food and drinks. Our server was great too. When we're passing through again, we'll come back, and try breakfast this time. We'd popped into Brambles for a meal. After a short wait in the entrance, we were given menus, shown where the specials board was, and found a table. My partner and I couldn't agree on dishes to share, so we both settled on the 'Small But Mighty' breakfast. Unfortunately, it was already well past 11.30, in fact 12.40, so breakfast wasn't available. Our server brought our drinks order and quickly returned to take our lunch order instead.

The service was warm and the staff were super polite. It's pet friendly, too. The restaurant and bakery are top class, with great ingredients. We tried the fresh venison mash, crab gratin and chowder, all really well done. The apple bramble pie from the bakery is a must try. I wish I could have breakfast there every day 🥧

We stayed in the newer rooms across the street this time, after previously enjoying the lovely rooms above the restaurant. They're beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was delicious, with friendly service, lovely background music and the best Campbell’s coffee in a lovely roomy dining area. All the staff are so friendly. We added chocolates and wine for a little extra and chose early check-in, which really made our stay. This beautiful boutique hotel is our go-to for a relaxing night away. Thanks, we'll be back 😊😊
