The staff were warm and welcoming, the food was tasty, and it’s only five minutes from the high street. There’s only street parking, though. For £72 a night, I got a bouncy single bed and what I’d call a small toilet rather than a shared bathroom. The TV had all the streaming apps and a perfect picture. The shared bathroom setup is ridiculous, especially when there’s a kettle in your room but you have to walk to that bathroom to fill it.

The buffet breakfast was spot on, with plenty to choose from, and supper was decent with a huge portion. The waitress was friendly, and the room was nice, with a fridge that’s a big plus when you’re away working for a few days. I was here for work, right opposite where I’m working in Invergordon. I took a couple of stars off because the location looks over offices and won’t suit everyone, and you’re asked to order supper at breakfast. That’s not a huge deal, but it won’t work for everyone.

The accommodation was clean and good. Breakfast is a self-service buffet with lots of options, and it’s dog friendly. Highly recommended.

What a lovely little find. We only planned to spend one night in Invergordon while visiting an elderly aunt, and wish we’d allowed more time. The Global Suite was luxurious, with a large, comfortable sleigh bed and even a roll-top bath. Breakfast was amazing, especially the porridge. My wife says it’s the best she’s tasted.

We ended up at The Ship Inn on a whim after finding Tucker’s closed for a break, and it was a lovely surprise. We came looking for an authentic Scottish beer experience and got even more than that. The owner was kind, welcoming, and genuinely accommodating, making us feel at home right away. The Ship Inn feels like a hidden gem in Scotland. I can’t recommend it enough if you’re after a great place and even better hospitality.
