Macdonald House

We left at 7 the next morning after barely sleeping. The cigarette smell was so strong in the room that we struggled to breathe, and the window barely opened. My clothes still smelled of smoke the following day and night. The room Fiona showed us was okay and clean, but it smelled too, and the odour was worse when we returned after leaving our bags. The house had no-smoking signs everywhere. The man who opened the door reeked of smoke and gave us poor advice about where we could legally park. I didn't see him again. The location is great, but the bed was small and the linens were odd for a B&B. No breakfast was offered. I emailed the owner with feedback and got no reply. Don't stay here if you can't tolerate cigarette smoke. It felt very unhealthy.

The strong cigarette odour made the stay really uncomfortable. There was a no-smoking sign in the room, but the smell seemed to come from the corridor under the door. The rooms are spacious, with an old-school look, and were decently clean. Breakfast was simple and nice.

We booked two rooms and immediately got hit by a terrible cigarette stink. The beds were uncomfortable and dirty, and the rooms had a strange, dated design. A terrible stay. There are plenty of lovely, reasonably priced hotels and guesthouses in Inverness, so just don't go here.

A bit noisy on weekend nights, but it's very convenient for walking into downtown Inverness. This is a lovely old house fixed up for guests, just what you'd picture a B&B being. Breakfast was very good, and the two older ladies who manage the place and cook were super friendly.
