Penthouse Riverview Apartment

The location was great, with easy, flexible check-in and private parking. We could cook dinner in the fairly well-equipped kitchen, which had a fridge and freezer, and there was a bathtub. It's about 800 m from the train and bus stations. A dish towel and a pair of scissors would have been useful in the kitchen. The bed was also very soft and bouncy. When my friend shifted, the whole thing bounced. If you're used to that sort of bed, or staying alone, it probably won't bother you. My friend and I don't usually share a bed, though, and we kept waking each other up all night.

The apartment was clean, and its location was good for walking into town. That's the only reason I gave it two stars. The furnishings and fittings felt cheap, and the owner was a bit stingy with basics: just one cheap toilet roll for two people over five days, and one bath towel for the whole stay. The toilet seat was loose, too. We didn't use the washing machine because there was no dryer or anywhere to hang clothes. We were told we had an allocated parking space, but it wasn't numbered, so other people parked there and we had to ask them to move a couple of times. The public hallway had no light, leaving it pitch black in the evenings and making it hard to open the door. A paving stone outside the apartment was loose, and I nearly fell. I've stayed in better apartments for less.

This tidy little flat is right on the River Ness, in a quiet block, and just a short walk from the town centre. We didn't need a car, and there was plenty of parking. My only gripe is that a few extra bath towels would have been welcome.

We could walk everywhere from this nicely located apartment, and it was really clean and tidy. A lovely, peaceful place to stay, with awesome hosts.
