Ronas House

The homemade breakfast and helpful local tips were among the best parts of our stay. Rona and the staff were always kind and went out of their way to help. Ronas House feels full of care, from the cozy rooms to the thoughtfully arranged shared spaces, and we found it relaxing and special. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. It was the warmest, most heartfelt welcome we’ve had, and we left feeling refreshed and already keen to come back. We’d return in a heartbeat.

We were heading to Orkney, and the owners were happy to share what they knew about the island. They both grew up there and spent most of their lives there. This is a small, very nice B&B held to a high standard, with friendly, welcoming owners. It’s just a short walk from the town centre, and breakfast was excellent.

Breakfast was delicious, with homemade bread and a lovely homemade sausage. They even took the bones out of my kipper. The owners were lovely, and the house itself is beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. There’s a great shower and a lovely bathroom, plus parking. It’s a short walk down to the centre. Ronas House is amazing, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’ll be back.

The little touches made our visit feel like staying with our grandparents. Our hosts picked fresh flowers from their garden for the breakfast table, and the “Over the Hil tae Grannies” rhyme in my photo added to that feeling. They were kind and really tried to make us comfortable. The villa is beautifully insulated, though that does mean it could use a bit more ventilation. The shower was great, the bed very comfortable, and there’s a coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was excellent and freshly made, and the coffee was prepared with care. Probably Nespresso, which is fine. I recommend this place.
