The Trout Fly Guest House

Niall and his family made us feel so welcome at this lovely guesthouse. The room was clean and well serviced, and breakfast was delicious. Their hospitality came through in everything and made our stay a great one. Thank you!

There were four of us Canadians on Islay for distillery tours, and the Trout Fly was even better than we expected. Niall was friendly, welcoming, and full of useful local knowledge. When we missed our ferry on arrival, he was understanding and courteous and went out of his way to help. He also reassured us we'd be looked after if weather delayed our departure, and generally made the stay easy and enjoyable. Breakfast was a highlight and a perfect finish to an already lovely visit, even if we got a bit muddled over our choices. Islay visitors, I can't recommend the Trout Fly highly enough. It was a real pleasure and completely stress-free. Thanks, Niall!

The owner was so friendly and kind, and made a full Scottish breakfast every morning. He also plays the accordion! I had a fantastic stay, and the location was great. On a beautiful day, I walked the three distillery path to visit the distilleries in Port Ellen. The place is near the ferry, airport, and Port Ellen restaurants. I'd definitely return.

Niall and his family were lovely, and we really enjoyed staying here for two nights on Islay. Breakfast each morning was delicious. There was some confusion about the ferry on our departure day, so Niall contacted the ferry company himself and got things sorted out for us. We'd absolutely stay again.
