Auchrannie Resort

Auchrannie Resort made for a lovely trip, and we’d happily come back with friends or family since there seems to be something for everyone. One snag was the hotel bar's no-tabs policy. I understand it, but it put us off staying long, so we headed back to our room. Check-in was confusing too, because the resort and hotel are separate. We stayed in Aspa and had breakfast at the Cruize, one of the restaurants. The other restaurants are at the Hotel. As someone with a dairy allergy, I appreciated that one coffee machine offered oat drink instead of dairy. We also used Aspa's foot bath, steam room and pool. We had good weather, but there's plenty on site if it's poor. Our room had a golf umbrella, a mini fridge and a remote-controlled fan. There's no A/C. The location is ideal if you don't want a car. Their shuttle picks up and drops off guests at Brodick port, and there are plenty of parking spaces. The staff were friendly, said hello when they passed and were knowledgeable and helpful when we had questions. We booked with an Itison voucher for a quieter-season stay, Jan - March. Booking meant calling, which wasn't ideal, but they kindly extended the voucher so we could stay in late April. That was a lovely touch before the trip even began. Breakfast was a good start to the day.

My friend May and I both have mobility issues, so we wanted a relaxing holiday, and that's exactly what we got. We spent a few days here and the place is beautiful, well worth visiting. You can swim, get a massage, sit in the gardens in nice weather, go for walks if you're able, climb mountains or play golf. I was happy to relax and do nothing. 😆 🤣 lol. The service was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, the meals were lovely with plenty to choose from, and all we had to do was ask if we needed something. The staff were always smiling and wanted to make sure we had a good time. Thank you to everyone for making our holiday so lovely. I also forgot to thank the guys who drove us from the ferry to the hotel and took us back when the holiday ended. Sadly 😥 lol 😆. I can't wait to go again.

The island is beautiful and has plenty to do. It’s a great spot for a fun family holiday, with spacious rooms full of natural light and a very family-friendly feel. The meals were amazing too.

The manager was unhinged, and the filthy, cold hot tub was a major health risk. We left without paying because the whole experience was unacceptable. The tub wasn't hot, the water wasn't clean, and the butler never showed up. We'd driven a long way to use it, but it felt like a serious health risk. Environmental Health have been contacted, and I hope the place has a risk assessment and records of water changes. Disgusting. The manager first said he'd waive the fee, then called back to say he'd changed his mind, there'd be no refund, and he was calling people to meet us at the ferry. Since we left, he's sent half a dozen threatening voice messages about sending people to my door. Pathetic bully. Don't risk your money or sanity here. Unhinged! The manager should be in a padded cell, not running a hotel. Island life has clearly rotted his mind.
