The breakfasts were a real treat: fresh eggs from the hens, homemade toast, and Pam’s jam. Our room looked out over the loch and hills, and Mark and Pam made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled into the ample parking area. We’d found Hazelbank B&B online and booked three nights, with excellent communication beforehand. Staying in Dunvegan, away from the crowds in Portree, while travelling from Edinburgh turned out to be one of our best decisions. After dinner in town, Mark invited us to join a tasting he was hosting in his private tasting room with another guest. He knows a lot about hosting, local history, and current whiskey distilling and distribution. He also gave us tips for quieter ways to reach popular spots and a few local secrets. The heather was in bloom, and the sights were amazing. Skye skins, Cath Waters, and the Tablet house... We were very glad we stayed with Mark and Pam at Hazelbank.

The view from our room was incredible, and the whole place felt peaceful, a lovely chance to reconnect with nature. We were on the Isle of Skye for our honeymoon and had such a wonderful stay at Hazelbank B&B. Mark and Pam are warm, kind hosts who made us feel comfortable. The room had everything we needed, but the breakfasts were the best we had on the whole trip. Thank you, Mark and Pam!

We were unsure about staying somewhere so remote, but the scenic drive along craggy, sheep-covered single-track roads soon became one of our favourite parts of the trip. My brother and I spent two nights at Hazelbank in September, and it was one of the best travel choices we’ve made. The price was incredibly reasonable, and our comfortable, well-appointed room had a beautiful view across the sound. Mark and Pam put care into every part of the B&B and were wonderful hosts, full of knowledge about local history. Breakfast was second to none, especially Mark’s poached eggs from the chickens in the back garden. If you’re visiting Skye, I’d strongly recommend considering a stay here. You won’t regret it.

Mark and Pam even drove us to the Three Chimneys for dinner on our second night and came back to collect us. Their thoughtfulness made an already perfect stay even better. My husband and I were there with two friends from 9th to 11th of June 25. My husband had researched carefully and chose Hazelbank for its location, reviews, and value. It sits above Loch Dunvegan, with wide, beautiful views of the Loch, Castle, and surrounding countryside. Our spacious, bright room had everything we needed, and we could see the Loch from the window. The residents’ lounge was comfortable and welcoming. Mark had provided a telescope for the keen birdwatchers in our group. Breakfast was outstanding: a full Scottish breakfast with free-range eggs from Mark and Pam’s chickens, Pam’s homemade preserves, and delicious porridge made with whisky to Mark’s own recipe. There was also a wee dram of Mark’s blend in the room to try. Mark suggested a few places to visit that we hadn’t considered. We loved our time there. We’ve travelled extensively around Scotland and the rest of the world over the last 30 years, and this was by far the best luxury bed and breakfast we’ve stayed in. We’ll definitely return.

Mark always has suggestions for special sights off the beaten track, and the main highlights of Skye are easy to reach from here. Dunvegan, with its many dining options, is 15 minutes away. The peaceful setting and view of Dunvegan Castle speak for themselves. The bed and bathroom are spacious enough to feel at home quickly, and breakfast includes fresh fruit and exceptionally tasty, creamy scrambled eggs. If you like the chance of meeting sheep on the road, you’ll enjoy this spot. Many thanks to Pam and Mark for a lovely stay.
