Waking up to the sea and the Outer Hebrides was wonderful, and after busy days exploring the island we loved sitting outside with a beer. We spent two nights at Lighthouse cottage as a family of four and felt at home straight away. Angus is a wonderful host and person, and seemed to have thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We also really liked the breakfasts.

The cottage and Angus were a highlight of our trip. Angus is a lovely host, and the room was cozy and clean. Great spot if you want to go on local hikes, with Uig close by for places to eat.

We had a really nice afternoon at the house. The sunset views were lovely, and there were plenty of bird feeders to watch. Breakfast was great too.

We were turned away from Lighthouse Cottage at about 8 PM after our Booking.com reservation didn’t include our one-year-old infant. It was an honest mistake, and even though we asked several times to stay just for one night and offered to pay more, the host refused. There were no other nearby hotels available, so we were left stranded with our baby, and he also refused to refund what we’d paid. We found him rigid and without empathy or basic courtesy. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. He shouldn’t be in hospitality, and if you need kindness, flexibility, or a safe stay with your family, stay away.

The house was freezing, and there was no way to switch on the heating. Dirt was visible in the kitchen and bathrooms, and the rooms were untidy. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
