We had haggis here for the first time, and it wasn't nearly as bad as people had led me to expect. Marilyn kindly said we didn't have to eat it if we didn't like it, but we were fine! She made us feel very welcome, though be ready for her sudden loud laughs. The house has the cosy feel of an old place with the solid, clean feel of a modern home. I hope I'm remembering her name right, Marilyn.

We felt completely at home at Luib. The host was wonderful, the rooms were lovely, the views were stunning and breakfast was delicious. Every detail felt right, and the shower had really good pressure despite the compact bathroom. The only possible bother is the squeaky floorboards, though it's a very old building.

The village is surprisingly well connected by public transport, since it's right on the main road. The views are lovely, and the place has all the amenities you could want despite being in an extremely rural spot. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on Skye.

The views are amazing, but the house is comfortable too, so it feels like a perfect balance. It's across the road from Loch Einort, which you can see from all three bedrooms. The place is spacious and well equipped, with free parking in the private car park, a working Pac-man arcade machine, a big living room with TV, and working wifi. I had everything I needed, and the hosts even left some basic food like bread and bananas. The exterior, interior and location were all top-notch. I had a great time flying my drone from a patch of grass across the road and got amazing sunset shots of the lake. One small annoyance: the wifi password was tucked into a picture frame, which felt too hard to find. I'd expect it in the house information folder. I spent the first half hour looking for it, and with no cell signal on any of our phones, we couldn't message or email the hosts. We arrived late, so knocking on someone's door wasn't an option. I also spent an hour trying to work out how to turn on the heating. I learned the next morning that the controls were in another part of the house and only the hosts could operate them. Knowing that earlier would have saved me time and hassle. My bathroom was quite small, but my bedroom was so big I didn't mind. There's a large Co-op about a ten-minute drive away, on the way from Scotland. We stocked up there for our three-day stay. This would be the first place I'd look for if I returned to Skye with friends.

The host was excellent, and so were the location and the food. We loved this house and will never forget our stay. Thanks, Marilyn...
