The rooms and facilities have a lovable old-world charm without being flashy, and the place definitely isn't 'colonial'. The food was tasty throughout, with some dishes exquisite: the best roast parsnips I've ever had, yummy grilled asparagus with Beurre de Paris, and baked alaska that everyone should try at least once. The staff are excellent and friendly. They really are what make the place.

We only had a short three-night break and wished we'd been able to stay longer. The staff, food and location were all fantastic. We booked dinner for the first night, enjoyed it so much that we booked the final night there too, and breakfast was excellent as well. It was our first stay at St Mary's Hall Hotel, but won't be our last.

We loved the food, from afternoon tea and evening dinner to the cooked breakfast each morning. The garden is gorgeous and relaxing, and the location is beautiful. Service from the attentive staff was excellent. The rooms are quite small for the price, and ours got stuffy and hot, so I would have expected air conditioning. Still, it was well worth visiting.

Our room was perfect and I felt very well looked after. We enjoyed our time on the island, and the food was fantastic. They catered for gluten-free food so well. Simple, wonderful.

It's a decent walk from the harbour, though the route isn't too steep. The room was modern but too warm. Good service and good food.
