The Tower Arms Hotel

I wouldn’t leave a homeless person here. It’s disgusting. The room was in poor condition, unclean in places, and had several safety issues. Its décor and general state badly needed refurbishment, with plenty of other defects around the room too. I booked based on the website description and photos, but what I got was nowhere near the advertised standard or what a guest should reasonably expect. I couldn’t sleep well because the window wouldn’t shut properly, the wood around it looked rotten and damaged, and traffic noise came through all night. There were cobwebs by the windows. The hallway was very dark, and the radiator was coming away from the wall, which seemed unsafe. There were problems with the fittings as well. The right bedside lamp didn’t work, so I couldn’t use that socket to charge my phone. A light shade was missing, one curtain side was missing, the toilet roll holder was loose and fitted incorrectly, and there was no bathroom bin. They’d hung a carrier bag from the toilet instead, which wasn’t acceptable. A screw stuck out from the bed frame and could have caused an injury. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and I was given only one pillow. The TV didn’t work. A staff member came to check it, confirmed the issue, and said they’d speak to the manager, but nobody came back and it was never fixed. No other room was offered. The key for getting into the hotel also didn’t work properly, so I was locked out and it took a lot of time and effort to get back in. DO NOT BOOK....
