Silverdale Lodge

The food was great, and the rooms were clean, comfy and good for kids. My 4-year-old son and I got a warm welcome and slept well. It's a lovely place to stop and rest, and we'll stay again. Thanks, Andrew and Lucas.

The shower in cabin 5 was the main issue. Water was leaking inside the electric unit, and it really needs checking because it could be dangerous. I couldn't mention it to management when we left, as nobody was around and we just put the key through the letterbox, so I hope they get the message and fix it before anyone is hurt. Apart from that, the place was clean, warm and comfortable, and very good value. It's fairly basic, as you'd expect for the price, but we enjoyed our stay and Pembrokeshire was easy enough to get around from there. I'd recommend it if the shower is sorted.

The dopiaza was okay, but it was short on depth and flavour. I've had better from other Indian takeaways. The function room smelled a bit damp, and although the waiter took my drink order, it never came.

The owners were hospitable, and breakfast had a good range of choices. The rooms are generally pleasant and warm, though the washrooms could have been cleaner and better maintained.
