Maon Hotel

For a budget-friendly stay in Brighton, this was a great choice. The welcome from the staff was warm, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. I’d definitely recommend it to tourists visiting the city.

I don't usually post feedback, but I left so disappointed that I wanted other customers to know what the stay was like. We paid £120 for one night in a “deluxe” room for a little romantic break before Christmas. The room felt cheap from the start. The fabric on the door looked badly finished, almost like something from a hostel, and the lighting was an unpleasant, cheap neon style. The windows were very thin glass, so we were cold all night and could hear every car outside. The next day, the shower barely had any water pressure, which made it hard to warm up properly. Breakfast was served only from 8 to 9 am, and we couldn't make it. We were tired and weekends are when we get to sleep a bit later than during the work week. I'm not saying breakfast needs to run until noon, but 10 am would be more reasonable. Checkout was at 10 am too, so the morning felt cut short. We had a couple of days here last summer and the location was great. The staff were super friendly, and breakfast was amazing, with a full English plus snacks, cereal and fruit. The only downside was that the room was small and a bit hot, though we didn't spend much time in it. Would highly recommend!

Breakfast came to the room, with plenty to eat: fresh pastries, porridge, fruit, rolls, jam, marmalade and cheeses. The hotel itself was clean, warm and welcoming, and really lovely. I'd recommend Maon Hotel if you're looking for a nice place to stay in Brighton.
