Mill cottage is a gorgeous place for getting away from a busy life, and we had a lovely week there with the dog. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating. It was clean and comfortable, with an open fire that was perfect. The Aga oven brought back childhood memories. It needs stoking twice a day, but it’s easy once you remember. We’ll definitely be back.

The river below the property was beautiful, and the hosts were wonderful. Mill Cottage was spacious and stunning, with great walks starting nearby. We had an incredible long weekend there, three couples and two dogs. One night we had a trout BBQ in the garden. Such a steal, we’d happily stay again.

We brought our two dogs and found lots of places to walk them. The cottage is perfectly placed for touring the Lake District, and the owners made us feel very welcome. It was clean and comfortable, and the Aga in the kitchen did a great job keeping us warm. We’ll definitely return.

Jeanne, Logan and the family are fabulous hosts and wonderful people. I spent five lovely days here and thoroughly enjoyed them. It’s an excellent base for visiting other destinations, and the setting is perfect for recharging. I always sleep soundly here.

Garnett Bridge has a real feeling of stepping back in time, helped along by the coal fired Aga. The house is quiet and peaceful, but Kendal, Windermere and Ambleside are still close enough to reach. Jeanie and Logan were so friendly and helpful, and the house had everything we needed, including soaps, towels and a fire ready to go. There’s a great local walk, Gatesgarth Pass, up to waterfalls and then on to Harter fell. Couldn’t recommend this enough.
