The halloumi was cooked just right, crisp outside and soft in the middle, with a sweet chilli sauce that complemented it without taking over. The food was beautifully presented and tasted every bit as good as it looked. You could tell the ingredients were good quality from the first bite. A great atmosphere and a dish I’d happily order again. Highly recommended.

A lovely local pub on the south side of the lakes, with a good selection of well-kept beers. We only had a couple of pints, but the staff were really friendly. It’s dog friendly too, and the menu looked decent. Recommended.

We were glad we stopped in. There’s a comfortable feel to the pub, and the walls are covered in all sorts of little trinkets that kept the curious kids occupied. Plenty of lovely beers to choose from, especially local ones.

After a day walking, this is a lovely pub in the South Lakes to settle into. The food was well cooked and the service was lovely. They even let our friend try some local beers. We had the fish pie, steak and ale pie, and lamb henry, and they were all superb. My one small criticism is that it would’ve been nice to have a few more greens on the side.

I stayed for a night while attending a navigation course with Lakes Outdoor Experience. The pub is fantastic, the staff were excellent, and the food was fantastic. The room was the nicest we’d stayed in for ages, and everything was super clean. A true gem. Well done to everyone, we’d highly recommend it.
