The Forest Country House B&B

The hiking around the communal village of Kerry was a big reason I came, and the trails and views were adventurous and down to earth. Hiking is my favorite hobby, and I consider myself a top hiker. Back at Forestry Country House, I found a peaceful, green setting in the countryside, with a lovely garden view and plenty to enjoy: the wooden park area, climbing steps, little round pond, a path through one side of the garden, plus a billiards table and games room where I played by myself. It feels like home, and the historic accommodation feels connected to my world. This was my fourth stay in a year, and they always put me in Ceri, the room I like and find comfortable. Paul and Julie are like good parents to their guests. They do their best to meet my needs, and our conversations always leave me happy. It's a healthy, relaxing, green-friendly place. God bless 🙏

We were here for a wedding and had a lovely night. The house feels comfortable and homely, with lots of art around and even a suit of armour in the hall. In the morning, all we could hear were birds, then we had a peaceful walk before breakfast. Such a friendly, enjoyable stay, thank you!

Paul was welcoming and engaging, and breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choices, served in a lovely dining room. There’s no restaurant, but Paul can suggest local places for dinner, and residents can use a small kitchenette if they bring food. The house is tucked into a beautiful rural spot in the Welsh Hills of Montgomeryshire, reached by a lovely drive, with simple grounds and a tennis court. It’s a great choice if you want peace and quiet. My room was spacious and in keeping with the period of the house. The four-poster bed was very comfortable, and the big bathroom had a great bath and shower. WiFi and TV worked really well. From outside, you might think the place could use a little TLC, but look beyond that, there are surprises waiting.

We had two lovely, quiet nights in a beautiful part of Wales, with a beautifully cooked breakfast each morning. The restored house has loads of character, and the hosts were wonderful, happy to help but also gave us space to enjoy ourselves. A real hidden gem. We'd definitely come back when we're in Wales again.
